Our counselling service extends to a variety of issues such as:

We also offer the Torn Asunder Program by Dave Carder for couples whose marriages have been hurt by adultery.

Your identity and information shared are strictly confidential and will not be revealed to any external parties without your permission.
However, if the situation involves threats to yourself, others and properties, criminal acts or intentions, we are liable to disclose the information to the relevant authorities.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQs)


1. What are your counselling charges?

We charge a counselling fee per hour per session based on your monthly household income. A surcharge of $20 applies for peak hour appointments (please refer to Q4)

2. How long is one session?

One session is about an hour.

3. How many sessions do I need to attend?

Typically we recommend 4-6 sessions, subject to a review with your counsellor.   

4. When would be the day & timing of the counselling session?

All counselling sessions are by appointment. An assigned counsellor will call or email you to arrange an appointment, which is either during office/off-peak hours or peak hours as follows:

Office/off-peak hours   Mon to Fri, 9am-6pm

Peak hours                  Mon & Wed, 6pm-9pm

                                  Every first Sat, 9am-1pm

Please note that opting for office/off-peak hours expedites appointments, and a surcharge of $20 applies for peak hour appointments. 

5. Will there be cancellation charges if I missed an appointment?

For cancellation of counselling appointment without 24 hours’ (working day) prior notice, a $30 cancellation charge would be imposed.

6. What are your counsellors’ qualifications?

Our counsellors have a Post-graduate Diploma in Counselling or Bachelor degree in Social Work and/or Masters in Counselling.

7. Can I request for a male or female counsellor as my partner is more comfortable with a male/female counsellor?

Yes, we will try our best to meet your needs, but it is subject to the availability of our counsellors. Both the client and counsellor would have to mutually agree on the day and time of the counselling sessions which fit both parties' schedules.  

8. Can I request for a particular counsellor recommended to me through my personal contact?

Yes, we will try our best to meet your request, subject to the availability of our counsellors.

9. Is there confidentiality in the information provided when I attend counselling?

All information provided by you and all who attended counselling with you is kept confidential with the following exceptions:

a. When the counsellor makes an assessment that there is foreseeable suicidal risk
b. When the client acknowledges ongoing instances of incest, rape, abuse of a child, adult, elderly or disabled person
c. When the client reveals his/her intention to commit a crime or when he/she is assessed to be in danger to self, others and or society
d. When the information is subpoenaed by the court and/or the Ministry of Social & Family Development and/or National Council of Social Service. All our client’s information will be stored in a database system of the Electronic Case Management System (ECMS) developed by the National Council of Social Service to foster interagency service delivery and coordination.

The counsellor is bound ethically and legally to inform the relevant authorities.
